CASE STUDIES Community Planning and Facilitation Five Wounds Brookwood Terrace Concept Plan.
Public Vision Research, in partnership with CommUniverCity San José, is currently working with the Five Wounds Brookwood Terrace community to develop a concept plan for several transformative projects prioritized in their 2002 NIP and 2007 NIP Amendment. These projects include the redevelopment of the San Jose Steel site and other industrial land in conjunction with the BART extension, the creation of a town square at the San Jose Steel site, the revitalization of East Santa Clara Street (between Coyote Creek and Highway 101), the development of a trail along the former Union Pacific ROW, and a neighborhood-wide parking strategy.
A series of workshops is currently under way to facilitate the community’s vision for these transformative projects. Public Vision Research was instrumental in designing the workshops to help coordinating communication between planners for the BART station area planning at the San Jose Steel site (a.k.a. the Alum Rock BART station) and the Five Wounds Brookwood Terrace community.
